Output runs from 305 hp in the Duramax to 481 hp in the 6.6L V8, which GM calls the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in its class.

The rear axle is a solid Hotchkiss design, and the ZR2 adds front and rear electronic locking differentials. Optional axle ratios, transfer case ratios and crawl ratio are not yet released.
Towing Capacity by Engine and Configuration
The 5.7L V8 tows the most, up to 13,700 lbs in a 2WD Double Cab with the standard bed and the optional Max Trailering Package. Every 2027 Silverado is rated for at least 7,200 lbs.

GM lists bed lengths of 5'6", 5'8", 6'6" and 8'. The ZR2 gets the 34-gallon (approx.) tank, and GM says the Duramax covers more than 900 highway miles on a full tank. Standard tank sizes aren't published yet.

The 2027 Silverado 1500 is 212.1 to 242.5 inches long, depending on cab and bed, and Chevrolet lists it at 81.2 inches wide including the mirrors. ZR2, Trail Boss and Custom Trail Boss get a 2-inch factory lift.
