2023 Chevrolet Camaro Overview

    The LS and LT trims are equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 275 horses and 295 lb-ft of torque. 1LT, 2LT and 3LT models have an optional 3.6-liter V6 engine that puts out 335 hp and 284 lb-ft. The 1SS and 2SS trims are motivated by a 6.2-liter V8 engine that’s good for 455 hp and 455 lb-ft. The track-oriented ZL1 trim is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that develops a compelling 650 hp and 650 lb-ft.

      All powerplants get a standard six-speed manual gearbox. The base four-cylinder engine has an available eight-speed automatic transmission, and the V6 and V8 powerplants have an optional 10-speed automatic.

      The automotive media gives the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro high marks.         With the base turbo-four and the eight-speed automatic transmission, the 2023 Chevrolet Camaro gets an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of up to 22 mpg city/30 mpg highway.* The V6 checks in with up to 18 mpg city/29 mpg highway, while the two 6.2 V8s return up to 16 mpg city/26 mpg highway and 14 mpg city/20 mpg highway.

          The Camaro’s interior is surprisingly comfortable, with high-quality materials and contemporary styling. Buyers can select an optional head-up display, a feature not available in competing models such as the Ford Mustang or Dodge Challenger. Optional ambient interior lighting adds a sophisticated look. Most importantly, the 2023 Chevy Camaro is more fun to drive than rival models.

          The base Camaro 1LS trim is only offered as a coupe. It comes with 18-inch wheels, a leather steering wheel, keyless entry and ignition, a drive mode selector, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, single-zone automatic climate control, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, a six-speaker stereo system with six speakers, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

            The range-topping ZL1 trim comes with 20-inch Dark Graphite wheels with wider performance tires, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, adaptive suspension dampers, an exclusive rear spoiler, an adjustable performance exhaust, alloy sport pedals, Recaro front bucket seats, and a simulated suede-wrapped heated steering wheel and shift knob. Other standard features include customizable ambient lighting, heated and auto-dimming exterior mirrors, driver’s seat memory settings, an 8-inch touchscreen, an upgraded driver information display, a Bose premium audio system with nine speakers, a rear camera mirror, and a wireless charging pad. The ZL1 gets standard safety features that include a head-up display, forward collision warning, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.

            Many of the features of the upper trim levels can be added to the other trims as part of option packages. These include the Technology package, the Heavy-Duty Cooling and Brake Package, the SS 1LE Track Performance package, and the ZL1 1LE Extreme Performance package. Stand-alone options include a navigation system, a sunroof, and a performance data recorder.

            Chevrolet engineers its vehicle to be safe. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2023 Chevy Camaro five out of five stars for overall safety.
