The All-New 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500: Everything That Changed

The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is a ground-up redesign, and almost nothing carries over untouched. Chevrolet revealed it on June 16, 2026, calls it the most powerful Silverado ever, and expects it to go on sale at the end of 2026. It has a new body, a new cabin built around a 16.3-inch touchscreen on every trim, a reshuffled seven-trim lineup that starts at $41,395, and a set of engines that brings back a famous number.

Is the 2027 Silverado 1500 a full redesign or a refresh?

It's a full redesign. Chevrolet started over on the exterior, the interior, the trim structure and the engine family, which is a much bigger change than the mid-cycle updates truck shoppers are used to seeing. For comparison, Ford's 2027 F-150 is a refresh. It's still the sibling of the GMC Sierra 1500.

If you want the spec-sheet version of everything below, our 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 overview keeps it all in one place.

What does the new Silverado look like?

The 2027 Silverado has a bolder stance, a new front fascia, new LED headlights and taillights, and wheel openings and rocker panels that are more sharply defined than before. Each trim gets its own lighting signature, so you'll be able to tell a Trail Boss from a High Country at night. Dual exhaust is now standard on Custom and every trim above it.

Wheels run from 17-inch steel on work-focused trucks up to 22-inch aluminum. There are three new paint colors, Apex Red, Pacific Blue Metallic and Trillium Green Metallic (all premium, extra-cost colors), joining White Sands, Summit White, Polar White Tricoat, Black, Riptide Blue Metallic and Sterling Gray Metallic. New packages include a Chrome Exterior Package and a Texas Edition.

What screens and interior tech come in the 2027 Silverado?

Every 2027 Silverado, including the Work Truck, gets a 16.3-inch center touchscreen and a 12.2-inch digital driver display as standard equipment. Chevrolet says that center screen is the largest in the class. The ZR2 and High Country go further with a standard 11.5-inch front passenger screen, a head-up display and a rear camera mirror, which adds up to more than 60 inches of total screen.

The good news for people who hate hunting through menus: Chevy kept physical switches for the controls you use most. The seats are all-new and wider, with designs specific to each trim. Dual wireless charging and a reconfigurable Multi-Flex center console are available.

What are the 2027 Silverado 1500 trims and prices?

There are seven trims, with starting MSRPs (including destination) from $41,395 to $79,995. The LT name is gone, replaced by a trim simply called Silverado, and the RST and LTZ aren't part of the 2027 lineup. Here's the ladder.

The 2027 Silverado Work Truck starts at $41,395. It's built for fleet and commercial buyers, with an easy-clean interior and a setup that suits common upfits for construction, utilities and municipal work. It still gets the new screens and the full standard safety list.

The Custom starts at $46,395 and now includes dual exhaust and 20-inch Technical Gray machine-faced wheels.

The new Silverado trim starts at $50,695. In 4WD form it comes with the Z71 package standard (skid plates, hill descent control and off-road suspension), and Super Cruise is available.

The Custom Trail Boss, at $57,195, is the entry point to the lifted trucks, with a 2-inch lift and 34-inch tires. The 2027 Silverado Trail Boss at $63,995 adds 34-inch mud-terrain tires, a dedicated off-road hood, monotube shocks and two unique interior themes.

The 2027 Silverado High Country starts at $74,495. It trades the old Western look for darker satin finishes, a Tritan Satin grille and 22-inch After Midnight wheels, and it's the first Silverado with a panoramic sunroof. Super Cruise, Adaptive Ride Control and the passenger screen are standard.

The ZR2 tops the lineup at $79,995. Chevy calls it the most off-road capable ZR2 yet, with 35-inch mud-terrain tires, a 2-inch lift, front and rear e-lockers, Multimatic DSSV dampers and GM's first use of forged carbon-fiber trim. An AEV-built ZR2 Bison edition is also available.

We'll go through every trim in detail later this month. For now, our 2027 Silverado trim levels page lays out the full comparison.

What engines are available in the 2027 Silverado?

The 2027 Silverado offers four engines, all paired with a 10-speed automatic: a 350-hp 2.7L TurboMax, a 402-hp 5.7L V8, a 481-hp 6.6L V8 and a 305-hp 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel. There's no hybrid.

The base TurboMax gains 40 horsepower and 25 lb-ft over last year, for 350 hp and 455 lb-ft, and it moves from an 8-speed to the 10-speed. GM says that's the best standard torque in the class. The two V8s are all-new Gen 6 small-blocks. The 5.7L displaces exactly 350 cubic inches and replaces the 5.3L; it's also the max-tow engine, rated up to 13,700 pounds with the Max Trailering package, which GM says is best in class. The 6.6L, at 400 cubic inches, replaces the 6.2L and makes 481 hp and 501 lb-ft, which GM says makes it the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in the half-ton class. The 3.0L Duramax stays the only diesel offered in a half-ton.

As always, towing and payload vary by configuration, trim and packages, so check the exact truck before you hitch up. And yes, the 350 is back. There's a lot more to say about these new V8s than fits here, so we're giving them their own post on October 12: The 350 Is Back: 2027 Silverado engine options explained.

What safety features are standard on the 2027 Silverado?

Every 2027 Silverado adds four new standard safety systems: Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Side Bicyclist Alert and Reverse Automatic Braking. They join a standard list that already includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Alert, Blind Zone Steering Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Front and Rear Park Assist, Rear Pedestrian Alert, IntelliBeam, the Safety Alert Seat and an HD Rear Vision Camera.

Can Super Cruise work while towing a trailer?

Yes. On the 2027 Silverado, Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance works while you're towing, and Chevrolet says that's exclusive in the segment. Ford has announced its own hands-free towing feature for the 2027 F-150, so expect that claim to get contested. Super Cruise is standard on High Country and ZR2 and available on the Silverado and Trail Boss trims.

A few limits apply. Lane Change on Demand and automatic lane changes are turned off while trailering, and the driver still has to pay attention to the road. Super Cruise comes with three years of OnStar, after which you'll need to buy a Super Cruise plan to keep using it. For long highway towing, it may be the most useful upgrade here.

When does the 2027 Silverado go on sale?

Chevrolet expects the 2027 Silverado 1500 to go on sale at the end of 2026. Arrival timing for specific trims and engines can vary, so tell us which configuration you want.

If you can't wait, current Silverados are on the lot now. You can browse new Silverado inventory at Knudtsen Chevrolet, or reach out to the sales team to get on the list for a 2027 the moment allocation opens up.

What Factors Determine Your Chevrolet's Trade-In Value? When you decide to trade in your Chevrolet, several key factors will influence the offer you receive. Understanding these elements can help you better prepare for negotiations and maximize your vehicle's value. Many drivers in Post Falls and the surrounding areas start by checking market trends on Kelley Blue Book to establish a baseline for their vehicle's worth. Mileage and Condition: The mileage on your Chevrolet plays a significant role in its trade-in value. Vehicles with lower mileage and in good condition-those that have been regularly serviced with oil changes and tire rotations-tend to command higher offers. For instance, a Chevrolet Silverado with less than 50,000 miles will likely be valued higher than one with over 100,000 miles, especially for drivers commuting from Rathdrum to Coeur d'Alene. Model Popularity: The popularity of specific Chevrolet models can also affect trade-in value. For example, the Chevrolet Equinox and Tahoe are often sought after in the Post Falls area due to their versatility and reliability, which can result in better resale values compared to less popular models. Market Trends and Local Demand: Seasonal trends and local market conditions can greatly impact your Chevrolet's trade-in value. In winter, all-wheel-drive models like the Chevrolet Trax may see increased demand in Post Falls, where snowy conditions are common. Similarly, summer months might see a surge in interest for trucks and SUVs as families plan outdoor adventures. Vehicle History and Reports: A clean vehicle history report can significantly enhance your trade-in offer. Buyers prefer vehicles without accidents or major repairs. It's wise to obtain a report from trusted vehicle history services to present a comprehensive record when negotiating your trade-in. How Can You Prepare Your Chevrolet for Trade-In? Preparation is essential to maximizing your Chevrolet's trade-in value. By taking a few simple steps, you can present your vehicle in the best possible light and set yourself up for a successful negotiation. Here's how to get your Chevrolet ready: Clean and Detail Your Vehicle: Start by thoroughly washing and waxing your Chevrolet. Pay special attention to the interior-vacuum the carpets, wipe down surfaces, and remove any personal items. A clean vehicle not only looks appealing but also suggests that it has been well cared for, which can positively influence appraisers. Fix Minor, Low-Cost Issues: Take a moment to address small repairs such as scratches, dents, or a malfunctioning light. These inexpensive fixes can significantly enhance your vehicle's appeal and prevent appraisers from reducing its value due to minor imperfections. Gather Maintenance and Service Records: Compile documentation of regular maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and any repairs. This history not only shows that you've taken care of your Chevrolet but also adds credibility to your car's condition, making it more attractive to potential buyers. Research Estimated Value: Utilize online valuation tools like Kelley Blue Book and Edmunds to get an estimate of your Chevrolet's trade-in value. Knowing the market value helps you set realistic expectations and prepares you for negotiations. Where Should You Trade In Your Chevrolet in Post Falls, Idaho? Choosing the right local dealership can significantly enhance your trade-in experience, ensuring you receive a fair value for your vehicle. Common Pitfalls to Avoid When Leasing or Financing a Chevrolet

Author: Knudtsen Chevrolet Leasing or financing a new Chevrolet is an exciting step for drivers around Post Falls, ID, and nearby communities like Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, and Spokane Valley. However, diving into the financial side of things can sometimes lead to unexpected challenges. At Knudtsen Chevrolet, we've spent years helping local drivers navigate these waters, providing the expertise and insight needed to avoid costly mistakes. Our commitment to empowering shoppers ensures that you can make confident, informed decisions as you explore your options. For those commuting along I-90 or enjoying weekend adventures at Q'emiln Park, understanding the ins and outs of leasing and financing is crucial. With our long-standing presence in the community, we're here to guide you toward smart choices that align with your lifestyle and budget. What are the most common errors when leasing a Chevrolet? Many drivers make critical mistakes when leasing a Chevrolet that can lead to unexpected costs. A frequent issue is misunderstanding the lease terms, which can result in surprises at the end of the lease. It's essential for drivers in Post Falls to carefully review the entire agreement, focusing on mileage allowances, wear-and-tear policies, and potential early termination fees. By asking questions and clarifying these details upfront, you can protect yourself from financial pitfalls down the road. Why should you calculate your expected mileage? Estimating your expected mileage before signing a lease is crucial to avoiding expensive overage fees. In areas like Post Falls, where daily commutes often stretch to nearby Coeur d'Alene or Spokane, it's easy to exceed typical mileage limits, often set around 10,000 to 12,000 miles per year. Local driving patterns, whether you're navigating the Prairie Avenue corridor or accessing the I-90 for errands, can add up quickly, leading to unexpected costs if not planned for properly. Track Your Driving: Consider logging your daily mileage for a week to establish an accurate average. This snapshot can help you project your yearly mileage based on your routine and local traffic patterns. Anticipate Future Trips: Don't forget to factor in any upcoming vacations or changes in your daily routine that may increase your miles. For instance, if you plan a weekend getaway to Q'emiln Park or regular trips to Cabela's, discussing a higher mileage lease now can save you from costly penalties later. How does skipping the fine print hurt you? Overlooking the fine print in a lease agreement can lead to unexpected expenses and missed opportunities, especially at the end of your lease. Many drivers in Post Falls and nearby areas find themselves surprised by end-of-lease charges or the complexities of vehicle return simply because they didn't take the time to read their contracts thoroughly. Excess Wear and Tear: In our region, conditions can vary from summer heat to winter slush, impacting your vehicle's condition. "Excess" wear and tear could mean anything from noticeable dings in the body, stained upholstery, or even bald tires, all of which might cost you at the end of your lease when you return the vehicle. Purchase Options: Many leases come with an option to buy the vehicle at a predetermined price. Knowing this figure ahead of time allows you to plan financially for the end of your lease and see if it aligns with your budget, especially if you've grown attached to your Chevrolet Equinox or Silverado 1500. What financial missteps should you avoid with a Chevrolet loan? The most significant mistake you can make when financing a Chevrolet is not fully understanding your financial situation and neglecting to get pre-approved for a loan. Being aware of your credit score and financial standing can empower you to secure better financing terms, making your car-buying experience smoother and more cost-effective. Why is ignoring your credit score a costly mistake? Overlooking your credit score can lead to significantly higher interest rates, costing you more over the life of a loan. A strong credit score often results in a lower annual percentage rate (APR), meaning you save money on monthly payments and overall loan costs. For drivers in Post Falls, where many commute to Spokane or Coeur d'Alene, even a small difference in interest rates can accumulate into thousands of dollars in extra payments, particularly when financing a vehicle like the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or Tahoe. It's essential to regularly check your credit report with major credit bureaus. Look for any inaccuracies that could be negatively impacting your score. If you identify errors, disputing them can help improve your score, potentially leading to better financing options. Remember, the difference in interest rates can make a significant impact on your budget, particularly for families navigating the growing housing market in North Idaho. Is focusing only on the monthly payment a bad idea? Chasing the lowest monthly payment can be tempting, but it often leads to longer loan terms, like 72 or even 84 months. This means you'll pay significantly more in interest over time, ultimately making your vehicle much more expensive. Instead of just comparing monthly figures, consider the total cost of the loan and how quickly you build equity. A shorter loan term, while it may come with higher monthly payments, usually results in a lower overall cost and allows you to gain equity in your Chevrolet vehicle faster. For detailed comparisons of different loan scenarios, resources like Edmunds can be incredibly useful. How does getting pre-approved help you? Walking into Knudtsen Chevrolet with a pre-approval letter gives you a significant advantage as a shopper. It not only clarifies your budget but also establishes a competitive baseline interest rate for your financing. This empowers you to negotiate confidently, knowing exactly what you can afford. Plus, while dealership financing may offer special promotions to consider, your pre-approval remains a strong reference point, allowing you to compare all available options effectively. Think of it this way: if you're heading to a dealership on Spokane Street after securing pre-approval, you can focus on the features and performance of models like the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or Equinox, without worrying about whether you can afford them. It's about transparency and making informed decisions, so you can explore the best deals available without feeling restricted. How can you ensure you get a fair deal? To secure a fair deal, it's essential to engage in thorough research, practice patience, and fully understand the values of what you're purchasing and trading in. Take your time; don't rush into a decision. Knowing the market and your options will empower you during negotiations. Where can you find information on current Chevrolet offers? Before visiting Knudtsen Chevrolet, it's essential to research current Chevrolet incentives to make informed decisions. The official Chevrolet website is your best bet for finding national offers, including promotions on popular models like the Silverado 1500 and Equinox. For additional tracking and comparisons, reputable automotive websites such as Edmunds and Kelley Blue Book can provide valuable insights into ongoing deals. By checking these resources ahead of time, you'll be well-prepared to take advantage of any available savings. What is the value of your trade-in? Understanding your trade-in's market value can play a crucial role in your negotiations when financing or leasing a new Chevrolet. Knowing this value allows you to significantly lower the financed amount or lease cost, giving you more flexibility in your budget. By utilizing independent valuation tools like Kelley Blue Book (KBB) or Consumer Reports, you can obtain an unbiased estimate of your vehicle's worth, ensuring you're equipped with realistic expectations before discussions begin. For residents around Post Falls, having this information at hand can lead to smoother and more transparent trade conversations. By setting a clear starting point based on objective evaluations, you can navigate the trade-in process with confidence, making it easier to secure the best deal on your new Chevrolet.
