The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer is available in five trims, listed as L, LS, LT, Activ and RS. According to the Chevrolet dealer in Hayden, two engines are on offer. The Trailblazer’s base 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine develops 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, teamed to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Front-wheel drive is standard. Also available is a 1.3-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that puts out 155 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional.

Consumer Reports wrote: “The Trailblazer plugs a notable hole in the Chevrolet portfolio, giving it a fashionable, small SUV at an approachable price. It notably includes many key safety features that are often optional in this segment. The upright design helps maximize space, while minimizing the footprint, making it well suited to navigating crowded cities and campuses.”

The Activ trim is specially tuned for off-roading. It includes 17-inch Hankook Sport Terrain all-season tires, a dual exhaust system, upgraded shocks, a restyled front fascia that provides increased ground clearance, and roof rails.

The EPA estimates fuel economy for the 2021 Trailblazer at 28 mpg city/31 mpg highway with the base engine.* With the 1.3-liter engine, the Trailblazer checks in with 29 mpg city/33 mpg highway for models with front-wheel drive and 26 mpg city/30 mpg highway for all-wheel-drive models.

Inside, the driver and passengers will stay comfortable inside the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer’s cabin. A user-friendly infotainment system allows two Bluetooth devices to be connected at the same time. Available features include a power liftgate and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s lots of room to store cargo. The Trailblazer offers a full 54 cubic feet of cargo space with the 60/40-split second-row seats folded. Passengers will appreciate the plentiful storage spaces for smaller items, including a 4.4-liter cubby under the armrest and 3.5 liters of open storage space in the center console .

Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, a rear-seat passenger reminder, front-pedestrian braking, lane keeping assist, forward collision mitigation and automatic high beams.
