2018 Chevrolet Traverse For Sale Near Spokane
2018 Chevrolet Traverse
The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse is a midsize crossover that seats eight passengers comfortably and has plenty of cargo space. With all that space, you might think the Traverse is unwieldy, but customers of the Chevrolet dealer in Spokane say it’s actually more agile than a conventional truck-based SUV.
For 2018, the Traverse gets a redesign that includes weight reduction of about 350 pounds. It gets a V6 engine with more power, and the RS trim gets a new optional turbocharged inline-4 engine. You’ll make fewer trips to the gas pump because fuel efficiency has been improved. When it comes to interior space, the Traverse is the class leader, with 3 more inches of legroom in the second row than last year, as well as more room in the third row. There’s more cargo space, too. According to Chevrolet Spokane, the Traverse provides an impressive 98.5 cubic feet of space for cargo with the rear rows folded.
Buyers can take advantage of many new tech features. Traverse owners with children of driving age will love the standard Chevrolet Teen Driver system. Teen Driver allows parents to limit the Traverse’s top speed and audio volume, track the vehicle and receive a report in the event of an accident. Also standard is OnStar with Wi-Fi and a 4G connection, a 7-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
There’s a new top-line High Country trim level, which is positioned to compete with near-luxury crossover SUVs. The High Country includes LED headlights, leather trim, an exclusive AWD system designed to provide maximum grip, and safety features such as adaptive cruise control and forward collision alert with auto-braking.
The Car Connection gave the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse an excellent score, writing: “A new powertrain and crisp (but conservative) styling mean the Traverse is once again a contender in the three-row crossover race.”
The 2018 Traverse is available in seven different models, which means there’s a Traverse for just about everyone. Trim levels are listed as: L, LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather, RS, Premier and High Country. Buyers can choose between front- and all-wheel drive on most trims, with the exception of the L and RS, which are front-wheel drive only.
All trim levels other than the RS are equipped with a standard 3.6-liter V6 engine that generates an impressive 310 horsepower and 266 lb.-ft. of torque. The RS gets a new turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 engine that makes 255 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of twist. Both engines are connected to a new nine-speed automatic transmission. The Traverse has plenty of power for towing, with a maximum capacity of 5,000 pounds.
The Traverse’s V6 engine with front-wheel drive gets EPA-estimated fuel economy rated at 18 mpg city/27 mpg highway, while all-wheel-drive-models check in with 17 mpg city/25 mpg highway.* With the four-cylinder engine, the Traverse delivers at 20 mpg city/26 mpg highway.
